MISO GLAZED SALMON
[VOL. 07]
i’m jeremy fall, chef, restaurateur, and founder of drugstore.
this is SUPERMARKET. a weekly newsletter about food, culture, and why your microwave deserves more respect.
this week, we’re going back into the archives for episode three of WAVES.
miso-glazed salmon. not your typical teriyaki redux or soy-sugar glaze. this one’s punchier. white miso for depth, sriracha for bite, honey for balance. it hits that sweet spot between weeknight efficiency and flavor that tastes like it took way longer.
watch it below and follow @microwave for more.
MISO-GLAZED SALMON
umami-rich, microwave-fast

this isn’t the salmon you broil until flaky and forget to season.
this is a miso-forward glaze with sriracha heat and honey softness - sharp, salty, sweet, and ready in under five minutes.
white miso brings depth. sriracha adds bite. honey rounds it all out. and if you’re feeling extra, the finishing move is Pokekake Original Poke Seasoning. think of it as furikake’s punchier cousin: salty, crunchy, and built to pair perfectly with salmon.

POKEKAKE SEASONING
this week’s salmon doesn’t need much - just a glaze, a microwave, and a good crunch on top.
enter pokekake: a furikake-style seasoning that doesn’t phone it in. salty, savory, and loud in the best way.
pokekake original hits that textural high note, thanks to roasted sesame seeds, seaweed, and a punch of umami that was basically designed for fatty fish and warm rice.

PAIR IT WITH:
whenever you’re cooking or need a soundtrack, you can listen to the DINNER PARTY playlist on Spotify.
this week’s flavor match is “Dang!” by Mac Miller ft. Anderson .Paak - funky, sharp, a little sweet, and way smoother than it needs to be. exactly like this miso-glazed salmon.
want more depth? add a splash of soy sauce or a pinch of brown sugar.
want it brighter? squeeze a little lemon over the top before serving.
eat it hot, or cold the next day over greens. it holds up either way.
see you next week.
