CHERRY CHIPOTLE BBQ SHRIMP WRAP
[VOL. 09]
i’m jeremy fall, chef, restaurateur, and founder of drugstore.
this is SUPERMARKET. a weekly newsletter about food, culture, and why your microwave deserves more respect.
this week, we’re pulling a deep cut from the archives. this was one of the earliest recipes from this newsletter. we’re talking sweet-meets-smoke-meets-shrimp. in wrap form.
it’s a cherry chipotle bbq shrimp wrap. bold but unfussy. spicy but soft around the edges.
CHERRY CHIPOTLE BBQ SHRIMP WRAP
smoky shrimp. cherry heat. avocado hug.
plump shrimp, melty cheese, and bbq flavor that tastes like it took hours but comes together in 15 minutes flat.
the spice blend is the backbone here. we’re talking chipotle’s slow burn balanced by cherry’s not-too-sweet lift. wrap it up with creamy avocado.
INGREDIENTS
6–8 medium cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp Spiceology Cherry Chipotle Ale Rub
1 tbsp olive oil
¼ cup shredded pepper jack cheese
¼ cup bbq sauce
1 large flour tortilla
½ ripe avocado
1 tbsp lime juice
salt, to taste
1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
¼ cup shredded lettuce
¼ cup diced tomatoes
INSTRUCTIONS
SEASON THE SHRIMP
toss shrimp with olive oil and Cherry Chipotle Ale Rub in a microwave-safe bowl.
cover and microwave on high for 1–2 minutes, until just warmed.SAUCE + MELT
drain excess liquid. add bbq sauce and cheese, stir to coat.
microwave again for 15–30 seconds until cheese melts into everything.MASH THE AVOCADO
in a small bowl, mash avocado with lime juice and salt.ASSEMBLE
spread the avocado mixture on the tortilla.
add the shrimp mix. top with lettuce, tomatoes, and herbs.
wrap it tight, fold it closed.

SPICEOLOGY CHERRY CHIPOTLE ALE RUB
this rub is a sleeper hit. chipotle brings the smoke, cherry keeps it playful, and together they turn even weeknight shrimp into something that feels borderline special.
find it online or in spice-forward aisles that don’t take themselves too seriously.
